127 died, 4 million people affected by floods in Bihar, UP and MP

Flood havoc in Bihar and UP is increase day by day. Even on Wednesday, no decrease seen in the water level of the rivers in both states. UP, Bihar and West Bengal’s major rivers are flowing above the danger mark. 987 villages in 28 districts of Uttar Pradesh, about 8.7 million people are suffering from flood scare. Similarly, nearly 29.71 million population of Bihar is vulnerable to flooding. Reports suggest that so far, 127 people died from floods in Bihar alone.

4 million people affected by floods in Bihar

Madhya Pradesh is also suffering from flooding. According to news reports, so far more than 100 people killed in MP due to floods. NDRF teams have been sent to UP and Bihar to rescue people from the flood. Relief Commissioner DK Singh told that rescue team is working in UP’s Varanasi, Allahabad, Ghazipur, and Ballia.

30,247 people in flood-hit areas of these districts have shifted to relief camps. 62, 397 people moved to safer places. He said that after the release of water into the rivers from Nepal and neighboring states Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the situation has become worse.  Due to which water level in the rivers increased.

In Bihar, seven people are dead and 29.71 lakh people have been affected due to the recent floods in the last 24 hours. During last 24 hours, due to floods, five people in Samastipur district and one-one people in Khagaria and Nalanda district are reported dead.

Due to the recent floods 12 citizens in Bhojpur district, six people in Vaishali, two people in Bhagalpur, and one-one people in Bashar and Lasikhrai district have died. Due to floods in Bihar, so far in this season, a total of 63.80 lakh people has been affected in 24 districts. So far 127 people have lost their life. Because of rising water level of the Ganga Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Vaishali, Saran, Begusarai, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Munger, Bhagalpur, and Katihar districts are prone to flood.

Patna, Vaishali, Bhojpur, and Sarana district are more affected by floods. 2 lakh 82 thousand 943 people evacuated. One lakh 15 thousand people are taking shelter in 262 relief camps run by the government.
