Special Court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sentenced Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 10 years in jail for rape. Judge Jagdeep Singh of the Special Court of CBI, pronounced this verdict in the Sunaria jail near Rohtak. Dera Sacha Sauda chief is guilty of the misdeeds of two former disciples.

The Haryana Government has issued orders to shoot at the spot after seeing the rioters near Rohtak district before the sentence was pronounced to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, convicted in the case of rape. A special jail in CBI’s court pronounced the verdict at 3:30 pm in the Sunaria jail near Rohtak, about 70 km from Delhi.
Rohtak’s Inspector-General of Police (IG) Navdeep Singh Virk said, “We are keeping an eye on the situation, adequate security arrangements have been made. If someone violates the law then he will be shot on seeing.”
Virk said that 28 companies of paramilitary forces have been deployed along with the Haryana Police in Rohtak. Special Judge Jagdeep Singh of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday convicted the Dera chief for rape.
Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was punished for ten years rigorous imprisonment. Armed forces and Haryana police have surrounded the district jail premises with security forces. The Army is also kept on alert.
No one is allowed to travel within 10 kilometers of the jail premises. Haryana Police Director General (DCP) BS Sandhu said, “We are fully prepared to face any situation. The army has also been made vigilant.”
In Haryana and Punjab on Monday, security forces have been placed on high alert. There is a curfew in Sirsa in Haryana, which will still be there.
