An FIR has been launched at Versova police station against comedian Kapil Sharma over BMC bribery case. Recently, Kapil tweeted to PM Modi complaining that BMC officials are asking for bribe. ON this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked him to reveal the name of the person who asked for bribe, but Kapil refused. Two months later, the case is now picking up again.
A social worker investigating the case moved to the Andheri court. The court asked to register an FIR against Kapil.
The FIR against Kapil Sharma launched under Environment Protection Act Section 15, IPC 187 and MRTP Section 52. If convicted; punishable by 5 years, 1 to 6 months and 3 years imprisonment.

According to social worker Abha Sharma, court asked her to register a complaint against Kapil under Section 15 because solicit the bribe or giving bribe is serious crimes. FIR should be on those with Kapil, who demanded a bribe.

Abha Singh launched an FIR against Kapil and asked for investigation in this case. Abha said, “Kapil tweeted, but anti-corruption bureau and police did nothing. Kapil did not reveal any name and there is no response from PMO.”
Soliciting bribe and offering bribe is a serious crime, that is why we’ve launched an FIR. Kapil Sharam has also done a crime by not revealing the name of the person soliciting bribe. Therefore, as per IPC 187 case is formed against Kapil. In such case, Kapil can be jailed for 1 to 6 months. Not only Kapil, everyone who is involved in illegal construction, should be punished.

On September 2016, Kapil Sharma tweeted, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 years n still I have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office.” In an another tweet Kapil Sharma said, “Yeh hai aapke aache din?”
Replying to Kapil’s tweet, Devendra Fadnavis said, “Kapil Bhai plz provide all info. Have directed MC,BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit.”
On the assurance of CM Fadnavis, Kapil tweeted, “Thank you so much sir…I would like to meet you and discuss on this matter.”
