Nursery Admission Draw: Admission process to start from 1st March

The process of nursery admission for Delhi schools in KG and Class 1st would start from 1st March. The process to hold between 1st to 15th March, and mode of entry would be only offline. Only those candidates who live in 3 km radius could apply this time.

The allotment of seat will do through online lottery draw. You cannot apply for the seats online this time.

Parents can get the application form directly through schools. They could also download the form from education department website, After downloading the form, it should submit in the school.

Application form submission timing is from 8 am to 10:30 am for the schools in the morning shift. For schools that operate in afternoon shift, the time of form submission is afternoon 2:30 to 4:30 in the evening.

It is compulsory that the maximum distance between school and the residence should be 3 kilometers. The registration would be held on the above basis only.  There would be no admission by points as being held in private schools. The draw would be held from morning 11 o’clock till 3 in the afternoon. The admission list will declare on 25th March. The seats would be allotted, after that, from 26th March to 31st March.

The last day for admission is Monday

The seats in EWS category based on the first merit list of private schools would allow from 29 February. The date of entry will not extend. On the same day, 29th February, the second merit list would be declared. The cut-off for the general category would also release along with it. The cut-off will announce till 31st March if the seats in the private schools remain vacant.

Minimum age for admission.

The minimum age for admission in KG should be four years on 31st March 2016. For class 1st candidates, this would be five years on the same date. There is a provision for admission of candidates with a minimum age for admission but none for maximum age. The high court has removed the provision of maximum age limit. There is no provision of Nursery class in Delhi schools. It is one of the reasons why the parents are inclining towards getting their children into private schools.
