India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave gifts to US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, including traditional and hand-made silver bracelets and hand-woven jaws and shawls of Himachal Pradesh. During the first meeting with Trump and his wife, Modi also gave the postage stamp to Trump, which India had released 52 years ago on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of former US President Abraham Lincoln.
The Prime Minister’s Office in India said in a tweet that the postal honor honors the memory of Lincoln and it is a symbol of the proximity between Mahatma Gandhi, who is inspired by his ideas and inspiration.
A US flag was also presented to the US President, who was made in Hoshiarpur in Punjab. Besides, tea and honey of Kangra valley of Himachal Pradesh were also given.
Later, Trump himself gave Modi a tour to the Presidential Housing, in which he showed him a Lincoln bedroom, a copy of Lincoln’s famous “Gettysburg address” and a desk that Lincoln had written it on.
Trump said that it is a matter of great honor for him to host Modi, who is a “great Prime Minister.”
