RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat today denied all speculations about him for running as a candidate for next President’s electoral this year. Bhagwat while addressing a gathering in Nagpur said that he will not run for the President’s choice this year. Bhagwat said these rumours in media are only for entertainment and and are purely fake.
RSS Chief said, “”I am not interested in that post. Such a news is only for entertainment. That is never going to happen. We close all doors before coming here. When we work in the Sangh, we don’t go there (to such high posts). There are many Swayamsevaks up there and they know it well. Even if in an impossible situation my name is nominated, we will not accept it. It is an entertaining news and should be looked at that way and left at that point only.”
The news came into light after Shiv Sena announced that it will give full support to Bhagwat if he is running for the President’s choice. Shiv Sena also said that Bhagwat will be a perfect choice for President’s post if India is to be made a Hindu Rashtrya. “Somebody with a clean image should occupy it. We have heard that Mohan Bhagwat’s name is being discussed for President. If India has to be made a Hindu Rashtra, Bhagwat will be a good choice for President,” Shiv Sena said.
This year Elections for President’s choice is to held after President Pranab Mukherjee ends his term on 24 July.
