The US today said it has been out of the global agreement on immigration. Behind this step, he has argued that many provisions of this agreement with the United Nations under Obama’s rule are “conflicting” of its immigration and refugee policies and immigration principles of the Trump Administration.
The American mission for the United Nations said in a statement: “President Trump has decided that America is ending its participation in the process of this agreement, whose goal is to achieve international consensus in the United Nations in 2018.” Earlier, the American Mission made the United Nations Secretary-General aware of the American decision to end participation in the global agreement on immigration.
As said in a statement, “There are several such provisions in the New York Declaration that are inconsistent with the immigration system of American immigration and refugee policies and the Trump administration.” America’s participation in this process of the agreement was started in 2016.
US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the US is proud of its moral leadership to provide its immigrant property and assistance to refugees and migrants around the world.
He said that no country has done so much more than the US and its generosity will continue.
He said, “But our decisions on immigration policies should be taken only by Americans. This decision will be about how we will control our boundaries better and who is allowed to enter our country. The global view of the New York Declaration is not favorable to American domination. ”
Under Trump’s regime, the US has separated itself from many global commitments. These include the exclusion of UN cultural and educational units, UNESCO and Paris climate change agreement itself.
