Internet company Yahoo is going to pull down the old version of Yahoo Messenger from its messaging service. Yes, from August 6, one of the oldest Messengers, Yahoo Messenger old version will not be available for use. Yahoo announced the news in a blog post.
According to a blog post on Yahoo, the company is now organizing its services; its focus is to make them better. The post further said, “At the beginning of 2016, we prepared an outline of our business, and we’re focusing on strengthening our seven major products – Mail, Search, Tumblr, Sports, Finance, and Lifestyle.”
As a reminder, Yahoo! Messenger was launch in 1998. In 2015, the company converted the old Messenger App into a new version. The company said that there are various new features in the new version and it can perform in a better way. The users will now be able to send messages, photos and animated gif’s in a faster and smarter way. All these features were available for one-to-one and group chats. Yahoo has suggested to its users to update the new Messenger.
According to the company, if the user will not update its Messenger, the user will not have access to chats. According to Yahoo, we will focus on improving the new Messenger, and our goal is to give the best experience to our users.
Also, the company has also decided to close its personalized visit service ‘Yahoo Recommends’ from 1st of September.
